The Culag Community Woodland Trust was originally set up in 1995 to manage Culag Wood for the Community of Lochinver and the Parish of Assynt. This land is leased. They also managed to buy Little Assynt Estate a few miles from Lochinver. A massive amount of voluntary work has gone into both these areas and I think when you visit either you will be hugely impressed by the dedication, not just for forming interesting new paths but their maintenance. Hats off to the volunteers. If you would like to read more about what each area has to offer then click here - a few photos below as a taster. The Culag Woods are just twenty minutes away from us in Lochinver. If you take the Inverkirkaig road out of Lochinver the best place to park for this walk is about quarter of a mile on the right up a little road.
