Maybe a
warning at this stage to those with children and dogs! |
|

|
|
Shortly -
the whole walk is about 5 miles - you start to climb and
have different views of the river as it falls away to
your right.
 |
You will need stout
boots or shoes since there are very muddy spots here and there &
rocks but most of the paths look like this...

We did this walk in
September and the heather was a wonderful sight - acres and acres of
purple enveloped us; quite magical.

Having realised the
path is somewhat rocky and a wee bit wet you may as well carry on
since you now are part way there. I am very sorry to say that you
will not find a MacDonald's there with a welcoming coffee in a
polystyrene cup so a bottle of water on your pocket might be a good
idea!
Was it worth
the walk? I think so!

The warning shown
earlier was not a joke. It is very steep if you want to get a better
view so be careful. I would not take grandchildren here! You could
if you cared continue along for another 1km to the shores of Fionn
Loch - a bit muddy closer to the loch. I believe this is one of the
ways to Suilven but that is another day's trek!
Now you have to go
back and contend with all that heather!

An afternoon well
spent. Complete the feeling of satisfaction with a cup of tea or ice
cream from Achins book store near the bridge and your car.
